Aggrieved APC youths beat party Chairman over anti-party activities in Ogun

There was pandemonium at MTR hall, Presidential lodge Abeokuta yesterday when angry youths from All Progressives Congress who are loyal to former Deputy Speaker, Hon. Tola Banjo who is now Special adviser to Governor Amosun on political matters beat the Party Chairman of Ijebu ode local government area of the party, Ladi Lekuti mercilessly, tore his clothes.

Lekuti has been allegedly accusing of anti-party activities over a year now, and 26 out of 37 Party executive
members of the Local Government Executive Council are against him.

Lekuti had time without numbers, denied the allegations, but the party youths had ab intio told him not to represent them whenever Governor Amosun called for a meeting at MTR hall.

Mr. Lekuti declared that he remained the
chairman that no one could remove him illegally.
He also accused the former  deputy Speaker, Ogun State House of
Assembly, Tola Banjo who lost at general election for being the mastermind of his attack.

In a four-page petition signed by the Vice Chairman
and General Secretary of the party in Ijebu Ode,
Olanrewaju Adesuyi and Moshood Kazeem, the
factional party executives had earlier accused the chairman of conspiring with the
opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to
work against the party during the Presidential/
National Assembly and Governorship/State Assembly
elections.

He was also alleged to have collected N750,000 from
them and conspired with them to work against the
party, which resulted in the loss of the party during
the governorship and House of Assembly elections on
April 11, 2015 in the area.

Some Party leaders had intervened over the matter so as to broker the peace ahead of coming local government election which the Governor called the meeting for.
