NFF considers paying Super Eagles in naira as dollar scarcity persists

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is
considering paying Super Eagles players their
bonuses in naira, because of the shortage of US
dollars in the country.

Although top officials of the federation are
speaking to the Central Bank about getting the
needed foreign exchange at the official rate,
they have resorted to asking the players to
open naira accounts with local banks as an
alternative plan.

An NFF source, has lamented their inability to
get forex at N197, which is the official rate and
admitted they were not prepared to buy dollars
at the parallel market.

Nigeria and Egypt will play each other in a
double header on March 25 in Kaduna and March
29 in Alexandria.
