The party leaders of South West People's Democratic Party held two parrallel meetings in Ijebu Igbo and Akure yesterday.
Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose and Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Senator Buruji Kashamu spearheaded a meeting at Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State while Former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel and Former National vice Chairman of People's Democratic Party, Olabode George were behind another meeting held in Akure, Ondo State.
Bode George and Gbenga Daniel querried why would Ayo Fayose and Senator Buruji Kashamu would agree to zoning of National chairman to the North East of the country when South West has qualified people. Ayo Fayose and Senator Buruji Kashamu opined that anyone above 60 years old should not be given the National Chairmanship position of the party. Fayose said He had firstly contacted both Chief Bode Olajumoke and Chief Olabode George but both showed no interest in the race. It was not clear if Governor Ayo Fayose attended the Yesterday meeting in Ijebu Igbo but some party Chieftains in the zone attended the meeting.
