It was spiritual inclination for Egbas on Thursday, when the people converged at Lisabi forest as early as 9.a.m to make sacrifices and remember the Egba warrior, Lisabi Oladeji Agbongbo-Akala at this year 2017 edition of Lisabi festival.
All the Egbas - Traditional rulers, Baales, Chiefs, important personalities - who proceeded to the forest wore white clothes and caps. Women were not allowed to enter the shrine but they waited at some distant area today while the sacrifices and Prayer were on. Oba Adedotun Gbadebo prayed for the unity and peace in Egbaland.
Egbas later in the afternoon paid visit to the family house of Late Chief Odebunmi who was choosen as the Egba Hero of the 2017.
The festival will continue on Friday by 9.00am with the Visit to Olumo Rock by the Alake, other Obas, Chiefs and People, with display by Cultural Groups.
Traditional prayer will be offered on top of the Olumo Rock while Egbas will render Egba Anthem.
At 1.00pm, Jumat service will be observed at the Central Mosque, Kobiti, Abeokuta
The grand Finale will be held on Saturday by 9.00am with Woro dance, beginning from sectional basis amidst drumming, display of cultural heritage and dancing by the club, groups, Associations at Ake Palace Ground
Thanksgiving Service will take place at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Ake, Abeokuta on Sunday while Display of ORO will round it up.
