The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun today met with the leaders and the Council Chairmen of Ogun west senatorial district to discuss about 2019 political race.
According to a leader who attended the meeting with the governor, he said the governor had not compromised or changed his plan in installing Yewa man as his successor come 2019.
The Yewa Leaders who attended the meeting were the core loyalists of the governor in Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC) while those leaders suspected to be the supporters of Senator Adeola Olamilekan popularly called Yayi were not invited.
The governor advised the leaders and the Council Chairmen to go back to their various wards and the Local government areas to begin the recruitment of the loyal party members for the 2019 political race. He told the leaders that the juicy appointments would soon be rolled out for the party members. The governor used the opportunity to assure again the leaders that most of the abandoned projects in Ogun west senatorial district would be completed before the end of his tenure in 2019.
There had been insinuations that governor Amosun wanted to use an Ijebu man, Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Bimbo Ashiru as his candidate for the job. Some people also claimed that Amosun had adopted Senator Lekan Mustapha from Ijebu Igbo as his governorship candidate.
