Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo and Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun have advised people of Ogun west senatorial district to present one consensus candidate for the 2019 governorship race.
Obasanjo and Amosun said this in Abeokuta at the 80th birthday ceremony of a former Secretary to the State Government, Deacon Poju Adeyemi and 50th birthday of his wife.
Obasanjo said Yewa Aworis have competent and professionals in all sphere of endeavour, such as academia, military, civil service and politics across the country.
The former president warned the people of Ogun West to settle their differences and come up with a single and consensus candidate in the forthcoming elections.
He said political rivalry had denied the zone that opportunity in the past.
Governor Amosun on his part, said the Ogun west senatorial district should produce the next governor in the spirit of justice, equity and fairness.
He said the people of Ogun West have contributed tremendously to the growth and development of Ogun State, as he added that the only way to compensate them is to give them the governorship slot in 2019.
