South-West Muslims set up foundation for Ibadan quintuplets

Succour yesterday came the way of the family of
28-yearold woman, Mrs. Sakirat Rasaq, who
penultimate Monday gave birth to quintuplets,
three males and two females, at the University
College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, as a foundation
was announced for the kids.

President of Muslim
Ummah of South West Nigeria, MUSWEN, Alhaji
Sakariyawu Babalola, disclosed this during a visit
to the woman and her kids at the special baby
care unit of UCH. He said the foundation, which is
being put in place by MUSWEN, Oyo State Muslim
Community and Ibadan Muslim Community, will
take care of the education of the kids from
primary school to the university level. Babalola,
who enjoined other organisations and individuals
to be part of the cause to help the family of the
kids, said the visit by the leadership of MUSWEN,
was to show appreciation to Allah for the
wonderful gifts and tell the family they are with
them. Babalola, who was accompanied by other
leaders of MUSWEN that included the Iyalode
Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaja Sekinat Adekola,
then presented N50,000 to the mother, stating
that the family will be seeing more of them.
Father of the kids, Alfa Yusuf Rasaq Ewenje,
thanked the South West Muslim community for the
gesture extended to the family, stating that the
support reassures them that Nigerians will always
rise up to provide for those in need.
