Adekoya gives account of stewardship on his One year at National Assembly


The first Ago-Iwoye indigene to represent Ijebu-North/Ijebu-East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Since 1999, Hon. Adesegun Adekoya has listed the accounts of his stewardship of One year at National Assembly.

The People Democratic Party Lawmaker, Adekoya stated that he created three well-staffed Liaison Offices, one each in Ibiade for Ogun Waterside LGA; Itele for Ijebu East LGA; and Ijebu-Igbo for Ijebu North LGA including the Federal Constituency Office situated in Oke-Ebute, Ago-Iwoye to get feedbacks from people he is representing.

He also said he had organized  empowerment Programmes for hundreds of the people directly and indirectly, Which included the distribution of dozens of Motorcycles, over 40 Tricycles, 60 Deep Freezers, 100 Generators, 40 Sewing Machines with stands, 10 Grinding Machines, and 100 Agricultural Chemical Sprayers.

The Lawmaker said he gave 1 tricycle each to Ijebu-Ife Base Boys, Ijebu-Imushin Base Boys and Ogbere Base Boys of Ijebu East Local Government,
1 tricycle each to Ajishomo Base Boys,
Oke-Agbo Base Boys and
Oke-Sopin Babse Boys of Ijebu-Igbo;
1 tricycle each OmoIgboro and Fine Boys of Ago-Iwoye.

Adekoya said the same olive branch of 1 tricycle each was given to
Ijebu-North Zonal Community Development Committee,
Ako-Matoole Area Community Development Committee and Ako-Adekoya Community Development Association in support of community development, as he also empowered women and youth of Ijebu-Igbo and Ifelodun with Direct Cash Empowerment to serve as trade support for their businesses to the tune of over N2,500,000.00.

On Community Service, Adekoya  donated one generating set each to;
Ibipe Health Center, Ago-Iwoye, Ajebandele Town Hall in Ijebu East Local Government Area, Obada Health Centre, Ijebu-Igbo,
Ode-Omi Town Hall, Ogun Waterside,
Malofe in Oni Village, Ogun Waterside,
Mamu Health Centre, Ago-Iwoye, and
Leper Colony, Ijebu-Igbo.

He also listed the reconstruction of an ultra-modern Methodist Church at Ako-Onigbagbo to replace the old and dilapidated structure as well as some mosques  as one of his achievements.

Other donations included; Plasma TV to Ijebu-Igbo Club, Ijebu-Igbo; Sponsorship of Sofare Festival 2015, Ako Day 2016, Annual Ajanaku Traditional Hunting Competition and co-sponsorship of the Annual Ileya Ojude Oba Carnival in Ijebu-Igbo, Egbe Bobagunte (Asiwaju Okunrin) Akile Ijebu, and Egbe Bobagunte (Okunrin ati Obinrin), Ago-Iwoye.

Donation of school uniforms and sandals to rural Local Government Primary Schools such as
Ajegunle LG Primary School, Abapaanu LG Primary School, Aworijeje LG Primary School, and Oke-Arowa LGPrimary School.

Adekoya also facilitated the equipping of the Olabisi Onabanjo University, (OOU) Data Centre with the state-of-the-art ICT components and infrastructure through National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Tertiary Intervention Programme.

On Health Care; the lawmaker said he settled the medical bills of over 150 constituents at Blessed Hospital, Oru-Ijebu, Best Care Hospital, Ago-Iwoye, Fountain Hospital, Ago-Iwoye and St. Mary’s Catholic Eye Hospital, Ago-Iwoye.

In order to curtail incessant bombings by insurgents, reduce crime rate and improve intelligence gathering in Nigeria, Hon. Segun Adekoya popularly known as Attacker co-moved with Hon. Abiodun James Faleke - representing Lagos State - a motion Calling for the Re-activation/Installation of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Cameras in Abuja, States Capitals and Major Cities. The powerful motion also called for an Investigation into the Failure of ZTE Corporation to Complete the Contract to install CCTV Cameras in Abuja and Lagos for a whooping sum of $470million since 2010.

He personally moved the motion Seeking Enforcement of Regulations Against Revenue Collections on Major Highways Pursuant to Taxes and Levies (Approved List for Collection) Act. CAP T2 of the Federation Laws.

His contribution to the bill seeking to provide easy access to higher education for Nigerians by the provision of loans from the Nigerian Education Bank which was sponsored by Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and now in second reading has become a reference point.
