The Damboa township market which was closed in 2014 due to Boko Haram attacks has been opened by the Damboa Local Government.
The market is located few kilometres from the Sambisa forest where Boko Haram terrorists used as hideouts.
The Transition Chairman of the Local government area, Alhaji Abu Hong, re-opened the market at a colourful ceremony in Damboa, headquarters of the council after the peace had the returned to the area.
The Chairman commended Governor Kashim Shettima, the military, members of the Civilian JTF and local hunters for their efforts in chasing out the terrorists.
He then advised the traders in the market to be security conscious and collaborate with security agents towards sustaining the peace in the area.
