The Party chieftains of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) of the Hon. Sikirulahi Ogundele's faction have zoned the governorship ticket of Ogun State to Ijebu zone of Ogun East Senatorial district ahead 2019.
The Party leaders who converged at the party Secretariat in Abeokuta at the weekend unanimously agreed that Hon. Ladi Adebutu who is presently representing Remo North/ Ikenne/Sagamu Federal constituency should be given the slot. The Leaders consequently said Adebutu should begin the immediate and adequate preparations for the race ahead of 2019.
Newspaper Online confirmed that Adebutu would vie for the governorship race from Odogbolu, his mother' side.
Those Leaders who supported the moves of adopting the Candidature of Adebutu in the faction People's Democratic Party included; former
deputy governor, Salimot Badru, a former
chairman Imeko-Afon Local Government Area,
Albert Ashipa, Iyabo Apampa who are Yewa leaders.
The factional Chairman of the People's Democratic Party, Hon. Sikirulah Ogundele and Some of his Executive members who included Deputy Chairman, Chief Ibukun Ojosipe, the State Secretary, Com. Bode Bankole from Yewa South, Vice Chairman (central), Alh. Ismaila Odejimi,
Vice Chairman (East), Arch. Kayode Adebayo,
Vice Chairman (West), Hon. Wale Adeogun from Ipokia and the Publicity Secretary, Malik Ibitoye from Ado Odo- Ota were all supported the zoning of the governorship ticket to Ijebu.
The former governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel who had served for 8 years came from Isote ward in Sagamu Local government of Remo Zone which is in Ogun east Senatorial district.
