Buhari to lead APC leaders to campaign for Akeredolu on Saturday

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Saturday arrive at Akure, Ondo State to campaign for the Governorship Candidate of All Progressives Congress.
It was gathered that 23 APC governors pressurised the President Buhari on the need to save his party Candidate, Rotimi Akeredolu from the defeat ahead of November 26 governorship election.
Ondo APC had severally shifted the date of the party rally so that the President Buhari and the aggrieved party leaders could attend it but President Buhari and Other leaders couldn't attend the mega rally organised by the party last week which had the Party Chairman, John Odiegie Oyegun, Some Governors, Ministers and others in attendance but the Governors of Osun, Oyo, Lagos states were virtually absent with the notable national leaders like Bisi Akande and Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
When the APC governors saw the large crowd that trooped out to honour Alliance for Democracy governorship candidate, Chief Olusola Oke, and the need to save the party from colossal loss, they had no choice than to persuade President Buhari to come to Akure to save Rotimi Akeredolu.
The Chairman of All Progressives Congress governors forum, Rochas Okorocha said that  “The Igbo people will support him (Akeredolu) not
because he is our in-law, but because he is
a good man. The PDP and the AD
candidates are strong but I know we will
win.”
The governor acknowledged that  President Buhari would be in Ondo State to clear waves on the lingering crisis of the party.
“That is why the father of the APC,
President Muhammadu Buhari, will be
coming on Saturday, and will address the
people of the state to clear the air to
those who doubt the unity of our party.
We are united.”
“What brought us together is not interest
to acquire power but the interest to bring
the necessary change for the economic
emancipation of our great nation.
“So, I am here to inform you that I came
and Aketi has been chosen by all of us and
we are solidly behind him, we are
unshakably behind him.” Okorocha said.
