Commerce: Ogun to spend ₦700m on Industrial parks, Garment institute, Other constructions

Ogun State government has allocated ₦253.8million which would be spent on the construction
of a new industrial park at Onijanganjangan, in Abeokuta, Oke-Ogun Local Council development area (LCDA) in order to boost business
activities in the state.

The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Otunba
Bimbo Ashiru said at the Finance and appropriations committee while
defending the ministry’s ₦700m capital
vote in the 2017 budget bill.

Ashiru said that ₦37million will be
spent on the construction of new roads to
open up existing park in the area, and ₦83.67million to equip the industrial park,
with new equipment for artisans.

He further stated that N45million would be
spent on building more incubation centres at
Odogbolu and Owode Yewa, while ₦101.5 million is voted for establishment of
the Gateway Government Garment Institute to
create new jobs and ensure industrial growth.
