The Ogun State House of Assembly and Commissioner for Finance, Wale Oshinowo have agreed on the reduction of N4bn Loan request sent by Governor Ibikunle Amosun for the procurement of Fertilizer by half.
Governor Amosun, through a letter earlier requested for
the approval of the Ogun state House of
Assembly, to access a N4 billion loan ahead of
the rainy season to procure adequate fertilizer
to boost food production.
According to the letter, the loan is to be provided under the
Federal Government’s special fertilizer
intervention programme to buy about 40,000
metric tonnes of fertilizer that will be needed by
farmers in the state to increase their
production.
Consequently, the assembly members invited the Commissioner for Finance, Oshinowo to come and defend the loan request, at the end of the defence today, the assembly members and the Commissioner agreed on the reduction of N4bn Loan request by half, which is now N2bn.
