Former Lawmaker dies in Ogun over shock of entitlements announcement

A former Councillor, Hon Agbegende Ade who served in Odeda Local government area between 2012 and 2015 died on Monday in mysterious way as a result of unpaid entitlements which was earlier announced on the State Radio and Television by the Ogun State government.

State government announced last Year December that the payment of Severance allowances of the former public office holders who had served
between 2007 to 2015, immediately when the State government got Paris funds were shared to States by the Federal government.

At the colourful occasion where State government had planned to distribute cheques to the former public functionaries who had converged from all 20 Local government areas, the organizers told the former councillors that their Cheques were not ready. Agbegende collapsed and he was rushed to the Hospital by some of his colleagues. His bad health conditions later resulted to stroke and eventually died today.

According to Hon. Lekan Adejare who is the Cordinator of the 236 Councillors forum, he said the remains of the former Councillor will be buried today.
