Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has promised to offset the Workers' outstanding deductions and the October salaries to workers who participated in the last Strike.
Governor Amosun promised
to offset all outstanding cooperative
deductions before the end of the year, he revealed that about 6 months of the
deductions would be paid from the Paris Club
refund which the state is still expecting.
Amosun while hosting the leadership of Nigeria Union of Journalists led by Alhaji Waheed Odusile who paid him courtesy visit at his Oke mosan office, cleared the air on the last workers strike that the state government has concluded plans to
pay the October 2016 salaries of some workers
who participated in an illegal strike action last year.
Governor Amosun said the payment
would be paid before the celebration
of this 2017 year’s Workers Day on May 1.
Newspaper Online reported last year that the State government announced the punishment of "No work, no pay" for the Workers who absent at work during the strike action called by the Labour Leaders.
