Assembly member gets N10m each for constituency projects in Ogun

Each member of the Ogun State House of Assembly will soon get N10m cash for the constituency projects.

This was part of agreement reached between Governor Ibikunle Amosun and 26 house of Assembly members, following the political imbroglio brewed as a result of inability of the State commissioner for finance, Mr. Adewale Oshinowo to defend the bailout and Paris Club funds given to the States by the Federal government were spent.

The Assembly members had summoned the finance Commissioner to come up with his defence on how the funds were spent, but Oshinowo did not show up for defence after deadlines.

In a bit to silent the Assembly members on their request, Governor Amosun promised each of the Assembly member N10,000,000 for their constituency projects. The Assembly members reportedly negotiated N15,000,000 each, according to a source but the Governor has to approve N10,000,000 for each of the 26 member.

Sources at the Assembly complex also confirmed that the constituency projects money will be paid to House of assembly members as soon as the State government received the second batch of Paris club funds this month.

Many of these honourable members had prepared the plans and compiled the series of requests from their constituencies.
