2019: Buhari in closed door meeting with Tinubu
President Muhammadu Buhari is reportedly meeting with APC National leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Buhari had earlier held a closed-door meeting with Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief John Oyegun at the presidential villa, Abuja.
The former Lagos State governor did not join the earlier meeting between Saraki, Dogara and Oyegun. Tinubu met separately with the President shortly after the leaders had left the presidential villa, According to New Telegraph.
Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) and governor of Zamfara State Abdul’aziz Yari was also part of the initial meeting with the President and drove in the same car with Dogara and Saraki, according to the reports.
The two meetings are coming hours ahead of another meeting scheduled to hold between President Buhari and the National caucus of the APC at the old banquet hall of the presidential villa.
New Telegraph gathered that the meetings may not be unconnected with ground works on the preparation for the declaration of interest by President Buhari for the 2019 presidential election.
