He banished the insinuation that former Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba opposed to the emergence of an Ogun West indigene becoming the Governor of the state in 2019.
"We hereby state unequivocally and with all emphasis that the said Ogun West Elder’s Council did not consult or indeed have the mandate of the good people of Ogun West to cast aspersion on any Ogun state leaders more so a former governor of the state and a national leader of a leading political party in Ogun State, the APC in person of Aremo Olusegun Osoba who by all standards is not only a pride to Ogun State, the entire Yoruba race but the whole country as a whole." Ajibola emphasized.
The Chairman also alleged that the Elders Council "re-echoed their paymaster's insinuation that some of our sons and daughters from the Ogun West who are in the gubernatorial race are “Tekobos” (strangers).
The group also labelled the Ogun West Elders council Chairman as Tekobo (Stranger) who had spent all his life worked with Lagos State government. "Does the adage kettle calling the pot black come to mind?" He said.
Chief Olu Agemo also buttressed What Chief Ajibola said that their gimmick was to divide Ogun West people.
He emphasized that none of the Ogun west sons and daughters would be excluded from the gubernatorial race of 2019 on the basis of Tekobo appellation. He said all the previous governors in the state could be described as Tekobos including Governor Amosun himself.
Ajibola said Osoba was committed to Ogun West agenda in realising that Yewa Awori man emerged as Governor in 2019. He explained that Osoba had supported Senator Akin Odunsi and Late Engr. Wale Bajomo for the race. He also said People misconstrued the insistence of Osoba that the people of Ogun west and Ogun state should be major decider of represents of Ogun west for Governor in 2019, not the individual or few individuals who wished to impose annoited person for personal aggrandizement.
The group reiterated that Ogun west Elders forum would work with other political leaders in Ogun State to realise Yewa Aworis agenda.
The group thanked both former President, Olusegun Obasanjo and Governor Ibikunle Amosun for their support for the region. They hoped 2019 will not be like robing Peter to pay Paul.
