Police discover illegal Military training camp in Abeokuta

The Nigeria Police, Ogun State Command have discovered an illegal military training camp in Adigbe area of Abeokuta. 


 The command said its men have arrested three persons suspected to be members of the operators.

The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Illyasu, announced this in Eleweran, Abeokuta while parading suspects, whose their offences ranged from armed robbery, murder and cultism among others at the Command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

He said on November 10, operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) “received information about a syndicate that set up a training base in Adigbe area of Abeokuta, where they were giving short military training to hoodlums and presenting them as soldiers.

“Based on this information the place was stormed by FSARS led by Supl. Ayuba Peter, where three suspects were arrested,” he said.

The names of the three suspects as Timelehin Olaniyan, Pelumi Olatunde and Arowolo Gbenga.

Some items were recovered from them included two jackknives, two Nigeria Navy identity cards and one tear-gas (pepper spray).
