We will conduct Local government election in July - Gov. Ajimobi

The Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, says
local government elections in the state will hold
in July.

Governor Ajimobi noted that there would be no
extension for the transition chairmen, who had
just been sworn into office.
The Governor, while admonishing the newly
sworn in chairmen, said that the transition
chairmen would serve for only four months after
which elections would be conducted throughout
the 33 local government areas in the state.

Governor Ajimobi said that the present
administration has zero tolerance for corruption
and ineptitude.
He charged the workers to be above board in all
their dealings for the transition period.
Governor Ajimobi also said that they must
embark on legacy projects with meaningful
engagement of unemployed youth as their focus
especially in the agrarian revolution mapped out
by his administration.

He maintained that the failure of any local
government is the failure of the state.

The Governor added that the four months
period is meant for putting local government
areas in order and to prepare them for coming
elections.
