Yusuff Olatunji: The Sakara player who mixed music with Goje

Unknown to many, Yusuf Olatunji, also known as Baba Legba or Baba
L’Egbaa was born by Christian parent who named him as Joseph Olatunji. Yusuff Olatunji hailed from Iseyin in Oyo State. He was a Nigerian Sakara drum
player, who popularized  sakara music style with Goje. Goje is Traditional or local Violin. Baba L'egba was purportedly born in 1909 in a village called
Gbegbinlawo, Gbegbinlawo is in Olorunda ward of Abeokuta North, Ogun State in south-western Nigeria,
although there are still doubts about the location of
his birth. Yusuff Olatunji converted from Christianity to Islam. His mid-life conversion to Islam boosted his
career in Yoruba music. He died on December, 1978.

Some of his albums included Volume 17 "Yegede" which he released for Bisi Elegbede Cash madam and Prince Sule Eshinlokun of Lagos State, Volume 6, "Oye kani fura", Vol.4 Asa Mba Eiyele Sere, Vol.24
Oba Oluwa Loni Dede and so on.
