PDP National convention : Those personalities backing the two factions

As Two factions of People Democratic Party hold their National Convention in Abuja and Port Harcourt today, the personalities that are supporting the two factions are listed below.

Ali Modu Sheriff’s faction has the backing of Governors Ayodele
Fayose of Ekiti State, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State,
Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State and Olusegun
Mimiko of Ondo State who is also the chairman of the
PDP Governors’ Forum.

Some National Working Committee members and
some in the Board of Trustees, as well as National Assembly Caucus are
also in support of Ali Modu Sherriff.

Prof. Jerry Gana enjoys the backing of a former deputy Senate
president, Ibrahim Mantu, a former minister of special
duties, Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, Chief Chike Udenwa,
a former governor of Imo State, Chief Raymond
Dokpesi, Chief Ojo Madueke, a former governor of
the Old Gongola State, Ambassador Wilberforce Juta
and a former minister of agriculture, Dr. Shettima
Mustapha, former FCT minister, Bala Mohammed, Dr. Akilu
Indabawa, Mrs. Remi Adikwu, Dr. Sulaiman Abubakar,
Senator Grace Folashade Bent, Ambassador Esther Audu,
Senator Ibok Essien and Bode George, Prof. Tunde Adeniran,
Hajia Inna Ciroma, Alhaji
Ibrahim Bunu, Alhaji Adamu Maina Waziri, Senator
Bala Mohammed, Dr. Doyin Okupe, Mrs. Josephine Anenih, Prof. ABC Nwosu, Sen. Ben Obi, John

Meanwhile, Independent National electoral commission has said that the commission will not monitor the election for three offices as Court ordered; they are National Chairman, National Secretary and the Auditor.

INEC’s Director of Voter
Education and Publicity, Mr. Osaze Uzzi, said the commission
has been served with a court order not to monitor
elections for the three offices unless or until the order
was reversed by the court.
