The Federal Government has extended the
public holidays for the Eid-el-fitr celebration
to Thursday, July 7th July, 2016.
Minister of Interior,
Abdulrahman Dambazau made this known in a press Statement which was signed by
the Permanent Secretary of the ministry,
Bassey Okon Akpanyung and released today,
states that the extension is as a result of the
decision of the President-General of the
Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs,
Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of
Sokoto, to extend the Ramadan fast to today
Tuesday July 5th following the non-sighting
of the moon.
