Court throws out Ogun LP petition against OGSIEC, Fines the party N10,000

Justice Olanrewaju Mabekoje has thrown out the petition filed by the Labour Party against Ogun State Independent electoral commission (OGSIEC) on Friday around 5:30 P.M.

Ogun State Chapter of Labour Party, in a case NI/215/2016 filed before the State High Court in Abeokuta, sought for an order to restrain OGSIEC and its chairperson, Alhaja Risikat Ogunfemi from conducting the planned October 8 LGAs/ LCDAs poll.

Newspaper Online gathered that after the submissions of the lawyers who represented both the Labour Party and OGSIEC, Justice Olanrewaju Mabekoje thrown out the case; cited that the party refused to provide enough evidences for the case. 

The court  then fined the Labour Party to pay the sum of N10,000 for the Ogun State Independent electoral commission (OGSIEC).
