Ayetoro-Oronna Day: Pointer to disunity in Yewaland ahead 2019

In all the 20 Local government areas in Ogun State, Ogun West senatorial district has 5 Local government areas; they are Imeko-Afon, Yewa North, Yewa South, Ado-Odo Ota and Ipokia. Ogun West which is made up of Yewa- Awori people, with a land mass of 6,297.64 klm
per square, It represents 37 per cent of the
total land mass, the area with the largest
expanse of land in the state,  with
estimated Population of 1,109,884 people,
which represents 31 per cent of the State
population and almost equal percentage ratio
with the other two Senatorial districts of Ogun Central and Ogun East with 33 and 36 per cent ratios respectively.

The paramount ruler of Yewaland is Olu of Ilaro, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, the Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Surajudeen Ishola Adekunbi is also from Ayetoro in Yewa North Local government area While His Royal Highness, Oba Azeez Ishola Adelakun is the Alaye of Ayetoro.

It has been the tradition of every town world-wide to celebrate their cultures when people from far and near, all walks of life would gather and exhibit their cultural heritage at a chosen day. The day usually gives the indigenes, Sons and daughters the great opportunity to invite the visitors and friends to the town to see the beauty of their Culture. Osogbo Oroki day, Argungun festival, Ojude Oba day and others are good examples of colourful days which had times without numbers attracted investors and foreigners to the towns.

Unfortunately, One could not actually fathom the reason(s) the organisers of Ayetoro and Oronna Days fixed the same Saturday, November 19, 2016 for the two different and great Yewa days or whether the two festival days are mistakenly coincidental. Though Ayetoro and Oronna Days are a week programmes but the grand finale ceremony is very Superb one, the Governor of the State, top Political and Government functionaries usually attend. The traditional rulers would use the occasion to solicit the support and request for the developmental Projects for their towns and Villages.
Notwithstanding, the organisers of the two festivals would have noticed the clash of the dates but chosed to ignore it because of the best reasons known to them.  This has consequently created confusion among Yewa Sons and daughters especially those Ayetoros and Ilaros who married themselves, who want to participate in both the two festivals. They would have to choose and attend one of the two festivals and ignore the other one. The way it stands now,
Ọlọmu aa da Ọmu Iya ẹ gbe ni o (The sons would preferably
go for their  mothers' breast to avoid dichotomy). The pointer to the clash of two festivals same day revealed that there is disunity among the Traditional rulers and Important personalities of Yewaland who could have changed or shifted the date. Ordinarily, Olu of Ilaro who is the Paramount ruler of Yewaland also supposed to be at Ayetoro Day but it is not certain if the King would leave his people in Ilaro and attend the ceremony in Ayetoro.

Unless there is urgent call for the unity and Co-operation among People, there is no way Ogun West people could unanimously agree and present a consensus Candidate again for 2019 Governorship race, as different Candidates of the political parties are likely to emerge from the different towns in Yewaland.

This is the same scenario that has been preventing the Zone from producing the Governor since the Creation of Ogun State in 1976. From Bisi Onabanjo era, to the Olusegun Osoba, Gbenga Daniel and Ibikunle Amosun regime, Yewa Aworis had never agreed to present a consensus candidate for the Oke mosan's top Job.

It was gathered that High powerful delegates from Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona had been sent, to persuade Governor Amosun to favour the ijebus, by zoning the 2019 Governorship ticket of APC to the Ijebus; While this was going on, it was also confirmed that Some All Progressives Congress Leaders from Yewa North Local Government sent the numerous text messages Governor Ibikunle Amosun, not to zone the governorship ticket to Yewaland.
Que sera sera, If God says 2019 is the year a Yewa man would  become the Governor of Ogun State, there is nothing anyone can actually do to that.

Powerful gladiators were behind this anomaly,it's a known fact as it stands today that some known politicians parading themselves as yewa messiah will be used to settle political score when the time comes.
Let them continue to wash their dirty linen in public. Time will surely tell

I have always said it that the leaders of Yewa are the main problem the senatorial district have. They refused to agree on simple matters to forge them to speak in one voice just bcos of little egos and selfish interest.
