Ogun State will soon begin exploration of bitumen deposit in the Ogun Waterside axis of the State, as part of moves to diversify the
economy from oil revenue.
The Minister for Solid minerals, Doctor Kayode Fayemi
said this at the convocation of the
Achievers University, Owo, Ondo State where he was
conferred with an honorary degree in Public
administration.
Fayemi said the exploration will also
begin soon in bitumen deposit in Ondo state,
and other areas with bitumen deposits in the
country.
Fayemi had asked Ogun state government in the areas with
bitumen deposits to find a technical partner
to participate in the exploration
during a recent stakeholders
meeting on solid mineral sector in Abeokuta.
