2017 Owu Festival: Programmes of events
Programmes of events are as follow :
Monday, 2nd of October, 2017 :
Road show round Abeokuta by the Palace Cultural troop and Abeokuta ROUP Youths - 10am.
Tuesday, 3rd of October, 2017 :
Royal visit to historic places and Owu Compound by Kabiyesi. Youths must arrange to follow kabiyesi and his cabinets.
Wednesday, 4th of October, 2017
Continuation of Royal Visits by kabiyesi and it will be round up at Amororo Compound, Totoro, Abeokuta.
Thursday, 5th of October, 2017
Conferment of Chieftaincy titles on two Alakoso at the Owu palace by 11am.
Friday, 6th of October, 2017 :
1. Conferment of Chieftaincy on two Owu Sons at the palace by 10am.
2) Jumaat Service at Owu Central Mosque, Apo, Abeokuta by 1pm.
3) Final Football march at African Primary Sch, Owu by 2pm
4) Drama presentation at the palace by 10pm
Saturday, 7th of October, 2017:
Grand Finale
1) Arrival of all Villages and Towns at the palace by 8am
2) Arrival of Owu Chiefs by 9am
3) Arrival of Olowu and his Cabinet members to the venue by 10am
4) Opening Prayer
5) Homage greetings and Abo oko from all Villages and town
6) Launching of ROUP Youths Abeokuta Region Almanac.
7) Cultural dance
8) Presentation of Issan to Owu Kangunere for his 12 years on throne.
9) Elasu and Royal Prayer by Olowu Kangunnere. HRH Oba (Dr) Adegboyega Olusanya Dosumu, Amororo ll, Akobi Oduduwa.
