Governor Ambode commissions first DNA forensic Lab in West Africa

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode on Wednesday commissioned the first DNA forensic Laboratory in Nigeria and West Africa.

The United States Embassy's Consul General in Lagos, Mr. John Bray, congratulated Ambode and the people of Lagos State for the successful completion of “the first DNA Forensic Centre not only in Nigeria but in West Africa,” saying that the development would enhance justice and progress.
Ambode had unveiled the plan to construct the DNA forensic laboratory since February, 2016.

The DNA laboratory is located on Odunlami Street, Lagos Island.  Governor Ambode emphasized that the Lab would not only help in the resolution of crimes but would also be useful in clearing controversies relating to paternity.
