Gboyega Isiaka, Kashamu, Others shun Ogun PDP congress
The Governorship candidate of People's Democratic party in the last 2015 general election, Mr. Gboyega Nosiru Isiaka and the Senator representing Ogun East senatorial district, Prince Buruji Kashamu were among politicians who shunned the State Congress held on Saturday at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential library.
The 31-member state executives were elected by delegates from 20 local government areas of Ogun State, under the chairman of the electoral panel, Dr. Eddy Olafeso.
The election was monitored by the officers of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by the electoral body’s Head of Department, Election and Party Monitoring, Titi Ahmed, and security agents (The Nigeria Police and Nigeria Civil defence and Security corps).
Former member of the Ogun State House of Assembly and former Executive Chairman of Ifo Local government, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele, emerged as the state chairman of the party, Chief Ibukun Ojosipe was elected as the deputy chairman, while Bode Bankole and Malik Ibitoye, emerged as the Secretary and Publicity Secretary respectively.
Alhaji Ismaila Odejimi was elected as Vice chairman 1, Arch. Kayode Adebayo as Vice chairman 2, while Hon. Wale Adeogun, emerged as Vice chairman 3.
Meanwhile, the House of representatives member, Hon. Ladi Adebutu and the Supporters of Former Governor, Gbenga Daniel participated in the Congress.
