Some PDP apologists are always quick to say is this the change they voted for? I always ask them if they voted for change in the first instance. For 16 years, PDP failed to turn the fortune of the country round positively with oil sold above $100 per barrel at an average but now, despite the bad economy situation inherited from the PDP government, they are criticizing a less than a year administration of President Buhari who is trying to rebuild Nigeria from the mess of Jonathan and PDP.
In 2008, U S was in critical economic condition. Many youth were unemployed and many lost their jobs. There was total economic breakdown in the God own's country just like we are presently witnessing in Nigeria. Barack Obama was seriously castigated. Many thought he won't win second term. He worked tirelessly to reposition the country. Today, under the same Obama, America bounced back. Nigeria will never be exemption under Buhari. I know many things had gotten worse before this government came into power. Jonathan and PDP stage-managed this country. I voted for change and I know that we need time and patience to get the desired change.
Jonathan and PDP apologists should for God sake watch as the change promise by Buhari come to reality. The journey to reposition this country has started. As Buhari is clearing the mess inherited from Jonathan and PDP administration, the cabals are busy looking for ways to bring down the administration. I know before the end of this year, many of the Jonathan and PDP apologists will be put to shame as the sign of a better Nigeria will be too glaring to be denied.
I don't know where Nigeria could be by now hading been that Jonathan was returned to power. I know quite well that Boko Haram would have taken over the entire Northern States and gradually moving down to South to establish their evil caliphate. States would have packed off because of their inability to pay workers salary. Officially, naira would have been devalued and we may be buying a dollar as high as #400. Jonathan and PDP apologists never get shame. They suppose to cover their eyes for leaving behind a bad economic situation. I have started collating some of their comments concerning the present situation we are facing in the country. By the time we overcome our challenges, they shall be reminded the change they thought wasn't possible has finally come.
Nigeria needs to build institutions and not individuals. The past administration was busy empowering the militant from the South South and OPC from the South West instead of them to use the oil money to strengthen our military. It was never a surprise when I learnt of Dasukigate. PDP shared fund that was meant to fight insurgent in the North East. In a sane society, by now, all the culprits are supposed to have been killed because their act amounted to mutiny.
I know by the special grace of God, the cry and the pain will soon be over. I voted for change and I never expected miracle or sudden change but an enduring and everlasting change where institutions will be built over and above individuals. I know development is a gradual process. Jonathan and PDP apologists should stop abusing our sensibilities by asking is this the change they voted for? When in the actual fact they voted for power.
