The Petroleum Tankers Drivers (PTD) which under the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) would commence a nationwide strike tomorrow.
NUPENG’s President, Igwe Achese, said this in a communiqué issued at the weekend in Lagos after its Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting.
The President said the strike would draw attention of the federal government and other stakeholders to some unresolved issues bordering on the welfare of workers such as bad roads, poor remuneration, insecurity and alleged excesses of some security agencies.
The union also vowed to resist any attempt to increase the pump price of petrol.
