The Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has directed all the 57 Local government areas and Local Council development areas Chairmen to swear in the Council law-makers next week Since October 8, 2016 When election had been conducted by the Ogun State Independent electoral Commission (OGSIEC)
The Governor made this announcement today after the meeting with the Council Chairmen. They were directed to start the swear-in ceremony from Monday, 5th of December to Thursday, 8th of December, 2016. Some Councils had fixed Monday, Some picked Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, depending how readiness they would be on the logistics.
Aftermath, The Councillors are expected to elect the Principal officers, Leader, Majority Leader, Chief Whip among themselves. The lawmakers are to make bye-laws for the Council.
Appointment of the Secretary to the Local government and Other posts will be announced later.
