Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun will today lay the foundation stone of Ogun State Polytechnic in Ipokia town of Ipokia Local Government.
The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has in July, 2017 approved the creation of the new polytechnic for Ogun State which to be located in Ipokia Local Government Area of the state.
Ogun State already has; Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu Igbo, Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Sapade, Remo, Gateway Polytechnic, Igbesa, Gateway Industrial and Petrol - Gas Institute (GIPI), Oni, Ogun Water-side, D.S Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori.
Ogun State government established the new polytechnic in Ipokia since Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta had been converted to the University of Technology. With this, the State now has three Universities; Moshood Abiola University of Technology (MAUTECH), Olabisi Onabanjo University (O.O.U) and Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) and One College of Education, Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE).
