He emphasized that Daniel's administration did well in sports and youths development.

When asked to give pass mark on Governor Amosun's administration, Ajayi said;

"No, (the) this government would not, as a matter of fact, to say, to have said to have excelled more than the past administrations for statistics. I am a statistical person, based on statistics, let us be frank, previous administrations (paused) (You know) have (You know) like I said number 3, then number 2 (So) in Sports. Let's be very clear about that. In sports, Give it to the last administration. It was fantastic. Number 2, number 1, I meant number 2, number 3. You could not compare. But this government still have 18 months." Ajayi said.

Ajayi also faulted Ogun West consultative forum's endorsement on Senator Adeola. He said such decision could not be imposed on them. He therefore advised all political parties in the State to zone the governorship ticket to Ogun West senatorial district.

Why we endorsed Yayi as Yewa Awori candidate, Ogun West consultative forum

Why we endorsed Yayi as Yewa Awori candidate, Ogun West consultative forum

By PIA

The Chairman of Ogun West Consultative forum, Mr. Kayode Ajibola has explained the reason the Senator representing Lagos West senatorial district was endorsed as the candidate of Ogun West senatorial district for 2019 Ogun governorship race.

Ajibola reiterated this while featuring on a Popular Radio's pidgin programme on Saturday morning in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

He said that the forum ab initio met with large numbers of important personalities, from Obas in Yewaland, Aworiland, and Oke-Ogun and so many elites.  He also said the forum met with Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Oba Jacob Olufemi Omolade, the Olubara of Ibara to get their mandates of endorsing a consensus candidate for Yewa Aworis.

Ajibola explained that unlike Ogun West Elders forum which is mainly for All Progressives Congress (APC), Ogun West consultative forum is for all political parties, and comprises of Professionals and that was the reason they invited all the governorship aspirants from all political parties in Ogun West. He also said People's Democratic party (PDP) aspirant, Prince Gboyega Nosiru Isiaka was the first to show up at the forum for the interrogation before any aspirant.

Ajibola emphasized that when they compared Senator Adeola with other aspirants, they found out that it was only him who had more experienced politicians across the 20 Local government areas, while other aspirants appeared at the forum with only their keen men in Yewaland. He said the forum had to restrict and reduce the 52 vehicles Adeola came with to 30. He said even as that 20 of the politicians who came with him were his Seniors in politics. He said Yayi as he is fondly called imbued vast political experiences, the financial strength and other factors required.

Some callers like an Igbo man 'Big Daddy' who reside in Ogun state advised Ogun west people to put their house in order by presenting a consensus candidate for governorship race. Ajibola replied that "The only we have endorsed is Solomon Adeola. It does not mean all other governorship aspirants can not contest. That's the reason we said it's an endorsement. Don't forget it's only for one party.

"All other contesting political parties are still bringing in their candidates and if we are lucky that all the political parties present candidates from Ogun west, We will go and sleep. It means head or tail, Ogun west would win. But for now, the most qualified person that can win election from what we have seen, from what we have been investigated from other senatorial districts is Senator Adeola Solomons." Ajibola concluded.

OGUN 2019: PLOT TO BLACKMAIL SENATOR ADEOLA YAYI UNCOVERED

OGUN 2019: PLOT TO BLACKMAIL SENATOR ADEOLA YAYI UNCOVERED

Following series of endorsements of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola also known as Yayi as the most qualified aspirant to contest for the governorship seat in Ogun state in 2019, a minor powerful clique against his eventual emergence are running from pillar to post looking for ‘evidence’ to disqualified or exclude him from the race he is poised to win.

Investigations conducted revealed that the clique out of desperation of failure of previous attempt to blackmail Senator Adeola has resorted to passing off false allegations to bloggers to publish as a way of showing that Senator Adeola is unfit for the post of governor of Ogun state in spite of his huge popularity among the electorate.

One of such allegation which was thoroughly investigated has to do with change of name by senator Adeola from Sulaiman Ogunleye to Solomon Adeola. The clique believes that something must be fishy for Senator Adeola to change his name in this manner. Unfortunately for these political blackmailers the reasons for the change are not a secret for those that had followed the meteoric rise of Senator Adeola as a Nigerian.

Our investigations reveal that Senator Adeola was born a muslim and his father’s name was Abdugafar Ayinde Adeola Ogunleye. His name at birth which appeared in his documents is Sulaiman Ogunleye which was what he used even as a staff of Guardian Newspapers where he worked meritoriously for about 12 years. As an adult Senator Adeola took a decision and converted to Christainity as his religion. This act of faith necessitated his change of name to reflect his new faith and he thus change his names to Solomon Olamilekan Adeola picking Adeola from his family name over ‘Ogunleye’ which reflect a certain level of traditional religion..

Our investigation reveals that the change of name followed due process and was published in at least two national dailies as part of the process. Since then he has presented the change of name alongside his official documents for all the clearance he got to contest elections four consecutive times to such government agencies as INEC, DSS etc. One is aware that such change of name is not unusual as even the incumbent governor of Ogun state father’s name was Sanusi Amosun but he chose to bear Amosun as his surname. As it is senator Adeola is in the process of yet changing his name as his sobriquet Yayi has gain so much ground that it would be unwise for him not to officially include it among his name. Even the Senator President, Senator Bukola Saraki usually refers to Seanator Adeola as Senator Yayi as many other senators.

The political blackmailers that had conjured issues such as indigeneship of Seantor Adeola are further spreading vile rumour of alleged fraud against the Senator while in the employ of the Guardian Newspaper. From all available records, Senator Adeola served without blemish and resigned to join another firm of auditors. And if such records are available, it would have counted against him in screening for all the political offices he has held so far.

As it is the Senator is unruffled and is continuing with his massive consultation and mobilization across Ogun State with various groups endorsing him daily.

Adeola challenges other governorship aspirants to public debate, says he didn't bribe anybody

Adeola challenges other governorship aspirants to public debate, says he didn't bribe anybody

The senator representing Lagos West and the governorship aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has
challenged other governorship aspirants, particularly those from Ogun West senatorial district to a public debate.

Adeola who is also known as Yayi optimistic that people could finally judge between him and other aspirants after the public debate.
While interacting with the Journalists in Ogun State on Friday, Adeola said:

“Maybe by the time they put all of us on the podium like this and the whole world is watching, maybe then it can be a different ball game. And if they want, I challenge them to a debate; all the aspirants from Ogun West to a public debate and let us discuss and let’s tell the whole world what we are ready to do for our people.

“I challenge them. I challenge Akinlade, I challenge Tolu, I challenge Suraj, I challenge GNI, I challenge them to a public debate. I challenge even Ashiru. If you are sure of yourself and you believe you have what it takes to govern our state and take Ogun State to the next level, come out for a public debate. Let Ogun State listen to us and let Ogun State take its decision and let everybody stop hiding under the finger of one individual. The media can be the observer, you can call for the debate, you can organise it and let all of us come and talk to you”. He said.

He also refuted the claims that he bribed the members of Ogun West Consultative Forum (OWECOF) who endorsed him as governorship candidate of Yewa Aworis.

Adeola said he never bought his endorsement, he only heard the news of his endorsement like everyone on the media.

Both Gboyega Nosiru Isiaka and Abiodun Akinlade had condemned the last week group's endorsement of Adeola. They tagged the exercise as “sham” and “fraudulent”.

Adeola emphasized that he was  "aware that before the Ogun West Consultative Forum embarked on this journey, consultations were made and I believe part of the consultations that were made was with the traditional rulers, elders of Ogun West senatorial district and other notable sons and daughters of Ogun West.

“It is aftermath of the consultation that was done here and there that the idea of invitation of aspirants came on board and as I’ve said, six of us were invited and it’s a programme that lasted for nine months. It’s not something that they did within three or four weeks, nine months and none of us contributed anything to the programme, not a dime! They are not here but God is here. I was invited like any other aspirant, I was given the opportunity to speak and address those people for two hours. Can he rule, yes or no, you can mark it. I think that is what those people did and they misconstrued them.

“If you are embarking on such a journey, one thing you must seek for is the face of God and once God says there is a way, then there is nothing else you can do. If I want to sit in the palatial home of Ikeja, GRA, Lekki, then why do I want to go into the rural part? But one day that rural part can be the same with these, some people must take the bold step. So I’m one of those that are taking that bold step. So, as I’ve decided to run or contest for the governor of the state, I have no regret. I am standing by my words that 2019 is sacrosanct

“Some people want to be the governor because they want to be the first Yewa man to be governor; some people want to be governor because other people have been called governors.

“Some people want to become governor because they are passionate with what they are doing, either to add value to whatever thing they met on ground in terms of development, in terms of expansion, in terms of improvement, and as such contributing their own quota to the overall development of the state. Well, some people want to become governor because they want to fly private jet, just enjoy themselves.

“But I want to become governor because I have what it takes to take Ogun State to the next level by the special grace of God. So, whosoever is in disagreement with Yayi, they would continue to disagree because the intention, the reasons why somebody wants to be governor is quite different from the other.

“So, for us to be looking for who will govern us in 2019, I believe we only deserve the best and only the best. So, as I’ve said, whosoever is not convinced about what Ogun West Consultative Forum has done, I challenge them to a public debate and let us settle the score one and for all”. Adeola concluded.

Labour Party drags Amosun to court over tall building in Abeokuta

The Ogun State chapter of Labour party has dragged Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Attorney general and Commissioner for Justice as well as Ogun State Property and investment corporation (OPIC) to High court at Isabo Abeokuta over their failure to furnish the party the necessary information required on the true ownership of the 12 storey building which is located at Ibara Roundabout, Abeokuta.

The Chairman of Ogun State Labour Party, Comrade Arabambi Abayomi Olufemi told Newspaper Online on Friday that the party had filed the suit at High Court, Isabo against all the above defendants for violating the Freedom of information (FoI).

The party said it had requested to know the true owner of the tall building at Ibara Roundabout but the government refused to furnish the party the necessary information.

It had been speculated around Abeokuta city that Governor Amosun owned the gigantic property.

Section 1 of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) empowers anybody to request information from a government institution whether he has a reason for requesting such information or not provided such information is not one excluded under the Act for national interest. I will not allow any foreigner to become Governor, I may hand over to Gboyega Isiaka, others - Amosun
I will not allow any foreigner to become Governor, I may hand over to  Gboyega Isiaka, others - Amosun

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Wednesday vowed that no ‘foreigner’ would emerge as the next governor of the state in 2019.
The governor vowed that he would use resources at his disposal to frustrate any effort to hijack the state by outsiders.

Governor Amosun who spoke at a meeting with members of Ogun West Elders Council and Yewa Think-Tank, held at the Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta said Ogun State had been held under the siege of the outsider.

Amosun said Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu and Rotimi Paseda as true indigenes of the state whose roots can be ascertained and eligible to contest if it were their turn.

“My decision to support Ogun West to produce the next governor is a covenant between me and my God. If 1,100 aspirants spring from Ogun West, it is their turn. But I won’t allow any ‘Atohunrinwa’ to emerge as governor under my watch.

“I have witnessed at close range, the havoc wrecked by a ‘foreigner’ (Gbenga Daniel) who served as a governor in this state, therefore, I will use all resources at my disposal to prevent that from happening.

“It is even insulting to have a non-indigene at the helm of affairs in our state when there are competent and capable true sons and daughters of Ogun State. GNI is a son of the soil, Adebutu, we all know him, even Paseda. For Jimi Lawal, he is ‘tokeoyabo’ (notherner) and Senator Olorunnibe Mamora, has even played everything in politics in Lagos, so they should give chance to the real Ogun State based aspirants.

“I am even sure that the ‘foreigner’ will not come eventually because when they come, Ogun will be too hot for them. In my mind, I know my choice, but I want to assure you that, that person will surely be one of your true sons”. Amosun emphasized.

Former Ogun east Council Chairmen oppose Ashiru's adoption

Former transition Chairmen who served between 2015 to 2016 under the administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun have opposed and rejected Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru as the Ijebu governorship candidate in 2019 election.

The Chairmen who served under the platform of All Progressives Congress APC, at the emergency meeting condemned - in a Commique signed -
the imposition of Ashiru by group of selfish leaders who met and adopted Bimbo Ashiru as Ijebu governorship candidate.

"Following the unconstitutional imposition by a group called Ijebu Agenda who are neither party members nor constitutionally constituted by APC or any organ of the party to choose any candidate as the flag bearer of the party, we resolved that the display of undemocratic and barbaric character by the so called Ijebu Agenda is not only condemnable but null and void." the former Chairmen said.

"The imposition of this magnitude can only be done in dark hours of the days rather than the day light robbery carried out under tight security of policemen and soldier.

"In this wise, we believe that aspirants should be allowed to express their fundamental rights as entrenched in the constitution of federal republic of Nigeria and slated in our party APC.

"To this effect, all nominations for elective position should go in conformity with Democratic principles as slated in our party constitution, they continued.

"We implore all to jettisoned the drama displayed by the selfish body parading themselves Ijebu Agenda which has nothing to do with APC guidelines of nominating candidates for elective position yet to be released by the national body of APC. The Chairmen concluded.
